The newly established Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO) is doing everything to ensure that the transformation processes take place as quickly as possible after taking over National IP Authority functions from SE Ukrpatent on November 8, 2022.
Online filing was re-launched by UANIPIO and is now fully operational, including assigning the numbers of applications immediately after their filing, with no further filing delays expected.
Representatives of UANIPIO are already participating in court proceedings on the consideration of disputes on IP rights protection.
Employees of UANIPIO founded the primary trade union organization and adopted a collective agreement at the founding meeting of the team on December 28, 2022.
The meeting participants applied for acceptance into the trade union organization, approved the Charter of the organization, elected the trade union committee, its chairman and deputy.
UANIPIO also reinstated the practice of regular meetings with Patent Attorneys in order to discuss key issues, challenges and recent developments in the IP field.
It was recently announced that the Attestation Commission of Patent Attorneys will commence work in the near future.
Restoration of the procedure of certification of Patent Attorneys is an important step, which the IP community has been expecting for more than 5 years.
