GRUR Annual Meeting 2024 in Augsburg, Germany

The Regional Group Bavaria of the German Association for Intellectual Property Law (GRUR) held its Annual Meeting from September 18 to 20, 2024, in Augsburg, the one of the oldest cities in Germany. The event attracted intellectual property experts not only from across Germany and Europe, but also from Asia, USA, Latin America and Australia.

The conference focused on current challenging issues in European intellectual property law, including patent and design law, geographical indications and trademarks, competition and copyright law. Participants learned about the latest changes in EU legislation and discussed the need for adjustments them at the national level.

In addition to the main presentations, participants had the opportunity to engage in panel discussions and networking events.

The conference also included a number of social events aimed at expanding the professional community. In particular, the GRUR Women Special and Young Attendees receptions created expanded opportunities for informal communication, experience sharing, and building new professional connections.

Excursions into the charming old town provided a delightful opportunity to immerse attendees in the region’s rich history and traditions. These cultural experiences added a vibrant dimension to the conference, making participation both informative and enjoyable.

The grand gala dinner held in the historic theatre served as a perfect culmination to the event. It was a fitting finale to several days of stimulating discussions and meetings.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Association and the Regional Group Bavaria for their exceptional hospitality and careful attention to details during the annual meeting in Augsburg.
