Increase in Official IP Fees in Uzbekistan from September 1, 2026

According to the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 23, 2026, the Base Calculation Unit (BCU) will increase from UZS 412,000 to UZS 440,000, effective September 1, 2026. This represents an increase of approximately 6.8%.

As the BCU serves as the basis for calculating a wide range of mandatory state payments, this increase will also apply to official fees payable in connection with the registration, maintenance, and enforcement of intellectual property rights.

The official fees payable to the Uzbek Patent Office are established as multiples of the BCU. Consequently, from September 1, 2026, applicants should expect higher official fees, among other things:

• filing trademark applications;
• filing patent, utility model, and industrial design applications;
• substantive examination of patent applications;
• registration and maintenance of IP rights; and
• other administrative procedures related to the protection of intellectual property.

Businesses, rights holders, and foreign applicants planning to file IP applications in Uzbekistan should take the revised fee schedule into account. Where possible, applications intended to be filed before September 1, 2026, may benefit from the current official fee rates.
