The Attorneys of the IPR GROUP at the 5th Intellectual Property Rights Seminar (AIPPI), Istanbul / TURKEY

The attorneys of the IPR GROUP regularly attend IP events organized by various associations all over the world. On April 05-06 the Trademark team of the IPR GROUP attended the 5th Intellectual Property Law Seminar of the AIPPI, which held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Istanbul.

The event addressed certain topics and held discussions on a variety of deliberately chosen subjects from international law, on practices, legislative regulations and doctrine, as well as subjects devoted to the protection and operation of industrial property rights and industrial property law, which also incorporates the effects of the present digital information age and the current fourth industrial revolution and its impact on intellectual property rights.

Within the scope of its Program, the headlines, which were delivered by judges experienced in their field, attorneys at law, patent and trademark attorneys, academics from Turkey and other countries, as well as representatives of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, were as follows:

  • The New Turkish Industrial Property (IP) Law No.6769 and its Implementation,
  • IoT (Internet of Things) and Software Based Patent Protection in the Digitalized World,
  • New Developments in the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works in the Digitalized World,
  • Importance of Commercializing Intellectual Rights In View of the Industry 4.0 Revolution,
  • Obligation to use the trademark.

The Seminar was also home to two patent and trademark mock trials which involved the participation of international judges, attorneys at law and attorneys in the field of patent and trademark matters.

It’s worth mentioning that the seminar gathered Judges, Public Prosecutors, Attorneys at Law, Patent and Trademark Attorneys, which created a perfect environment for the exchange of views and experience.

The Seminar was finalized with an evening Gala Dinner boat tour on the Bosphorus, during which guests enjoyed the unique ambience embraced by the historic and natural beauties of Istanbul.
