Uzbekistan will introduce substantial reductions in official fees for intellectual property (IP) services, effective January 1, 2025. This initiative is part of the country’s efforts to align its legislation with World Trade Organization (WTO) standards as it moves closer to WTO membership.
Previously, official fees varied depending on the applicant’s residency status. Under the new reforms, uniform fees will apply to all applicants, regardless of whether they are Uzbek nationals or foreign residents. This change ensures fairness and compliance with international standards.
The new regulations will reduce fees significantly across patents, trademarks, utility models, and industrial designs, with an average decrease of approximately 75%.
