Presentations from various software companies highlighted the latest AI-powered tools and applications that can be used to streamline patent search, analysis, and protection processes.
The conference also delved into recent case law from the Federal Court of Justice and the European Patent Office. Discussions centered on significant rulings that have shaped the intellectual property landscape, providing practical guidance for practitioners.
The intersection of intellectual property and mergers and acquisitions was also a major focus. Practical insights and case studies were presented, highlighting the importance of identifying, valuing, and protecting IP assets in M&A deals.
The valuation of intellectual property assets is a complex and challenging task. The presentation addressed this issue by exploring various methods and best practices for accurately assessing the value of IP assets.
The role of patent attorney assistants and employee inventions and the dispute resolution mechanisms were another important topics explored at the conference.
Finally, the challenges faced by trademark holders in combating domain name disputes were also under review. Attendees learned about effective strategies for protecting their brands and recovering domain names.
The evening program offered a delightful blend of culture, networking, and professional development. The event kicked off with a captivating city tour of Berlin, culminating in a mesmerizing organ music concert at the historic Berlin Cathedral.
Following the tour, attendees gathered for a reception at the Maritim proArte hotel, provided an ideal opportunity to mingle with fellow VPP members and industry experts. The evening was then transited into a formal dinner, where attendees could enjoy fine cuisine and stimulating conversation.
