The IPR GROUP team attended the AIPLA 2023 Annual Meeting that took place at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, National Harbor, Maryland on October 19-21, 2023.
The event featured dynamic panels and sessions with the focus on recent developments, challenges and emerging trends in IP law and practice across US, Europe and worldwide, which provided tremendous opportunities to stay tuned and updated on such hot topics as artificial intelligence, in particular, copyright implications of generative AI; data privacy; trademark law and ethics; cybersecurity and patents; trademarks and the use of AI tools, and many others.
Valuable updates on the WIPO Patent Cooperation Treaty and Madrid System as presented by the WIPO representatives; also, insights into the first five months of the Unified Patent Court’s work including cases and trends were the focus of attention.
One of the key meeting events was Women in IP breakfast featuring an amazing presentation “Lead Fearlessly, Permission Optional” by Ms. Awakessien Jeter encouraging women leadership and raising awareness in available opportunities for women to lead in various fields including IP.
The AIPLA 2023 Annual Meeting offered lots of opportunities for networking, reconnecting with IP practitioners from all over the world, meeting with the academic community, representatives of the WIPO, USPTO, EUIPO.
As usual, the AIPLA meeting was a top-level organized event. The IPR GROUP team enjoyed a 3-day conference and would like to thank organizers and everyone who contributed to a successful meeting.
