The Protocol on the protection of Industrial Designs to the Eurasian Patent Convention was entered into force on March 17, 2021; and starting from June 1, 2021, the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) began accepting applications for industrial designs. This expanded the Eurasian patent system, giving applicants the opportunity to obtain legal protection for an Industrial Design in the territory of all member states on the basis of one application filed with the Eurasian Patent Office.
