Attorneys of the IPR attended the 9ᵗʰ Patent Annual Conference of China (CPAC) in Beijing on August 30 – 31, 2018.
Launched in 2010, CPAC is committed to building up a platform of communication for patent professionals and their international cooperation. The conference aims to “Bring Together for Better” delegates from IP offices, in-house counsels, IP attorneys, patent experts, as well as patent information service providers.
Being one of the biggest annual events in the Chinese IP scene, this year’s Conference focused on latest IP industry trends and its hotly debated topics, with high-profile keynote speeches, sessions and unparalleled networking opportunities. The CPAC provided attorneys from all over the world with the sheer opportunity of learning and exchanging ideas.
Our colleagues enjoyed the opportunity to communicate with other patent professionals and explore possibilities for international cooperation.
The Conference came to an end with an evening Closing Dinner, during which guests enjoyed traditional Chinese cuisine.
We would like to thank the organizers of this outstanding event, and look forward to visiting next year’s CPAC in order to share our insights and experiences with thoughtful leaders and professionals in the IP industry.
Following that, the trademark team of the IPR Group attended the 2018 China Trademark Festival (CTF 2018) on the topic of “Creation, Protection and Application”, which held from August 31 to September 3 in Tangshan City, Hebei Province.
After many years, CTF has developed into an international event of trademarks and brands, bringing together experts, entrepreneurs and relevant professional intellectual property institutions both at home and abroad for trademark protection consultations, sharing experiences of national trademark strategies, discussions of domestic and foreign trademark culture and well-known brands’ displays, etc.
The 2018 Festival held the traditional International Trademark Law Dynamic Forum, Old Brand Trademark Forum and Geographical Indication Trademark Forum, as well as the newly set up EU Trademark Forum, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Trademark Development Forum and Cross-Strait Trademark and Brand Innovation Forum.
In addition, the China Trademark Association also held a trademark design competition at the Festival, and published the winning entries.
The CTF 2018 ended in a Closing Dinner, during which participants expressed their appreciation to the organizers for a very informative and productive time together.
The Trademark team of the IPR GROUP were pleased to visit colleagues and friends in Beijing.
Attorneys discussed major trends in the IP sphere in China and the peculiarities of patent and trademark examinations in their jurisdictions, as well as business prospects and possible participation in new projects in the IP sphere.
During the meetings, they made brief presentations of said projects and company profiles.
The attorneys of the IPR GROUP thank their colleagues for their warm hospitality and welcome further opportunities for cooperation.
